Paediatric house calls

A doctor for your child, without the waiting room.

A feverish child at midnight doesn't need a taxi ride and an hour in a crowded waiting room. A doctor comes to your home to examine, reassure and treat — so your child can stay in their own bed while they're seen.

Why a house call for a sick child

Calmer for your child, easier for you.

Waiting rooms are stressful for children and a place where one infection can become two. A home visit means no exposure to other sick patients, no disturbing a sleeping child for a car journey, and a doctor who can take time to examine a wriggly toddler properly.

You'll get a clear explanation of what's going on, what to watch for, and a digital MC and prescription where needed — without leaving the house.

What we treat at home

The common childhood illnesses.

Fever & infections

Fever, sore throats, ear pain and the usual seasonal bugs — examined and treated at home.

Coughs & colds

Persistent coughs, blocked noses and chesty colds assessed, with advice on what helps and what doesn't.

Tummy bugs & rashes

Vomiting, diarrhoea, rashes and hydration checked — with clear guidance on keeping fluids up.

Your child's safety comes first

When to call 995 instead.

Call 995 immediately if your child has any of these

Difficulty breathing or rapid breathing; a fit or seizure; a rash that doesn't fade when pressed; unusual drowsiness or floppiness; a stiff neck with fever; persistent vomiting with no wet nappies or tears; or a baby under 3 months with a fever. These need emergency care, not a home visit.

For everything else — the ordinary fevers, coughs and tummy bugs of childhood — a home visit is often the gentler option. If you're unsure, call us and we'll help you decide.

Talk to our team

Common ones — fever, coughs and colds, sore throats, ear pain, rashes, vomiting and diarrhoea. A doctor examines your child, advises on treatment and can prescribe medication. For breathing difficulty, a fit, a non-fading rash, drowsiness or signs of dehydration, call 995 immediately.

We operate 24/7, and a doctor comes to you at home — useful when a child spikes a fever overnight and you would rather not wake them for a clinic or A&E queue.

A doctor can assess infants at home, and home is often calmer for a baby than a waiting room. Very young infants with fever sometimes need hospital tests — if so, the doctor will explain why and help arrange it.
