Woodlands & the North

House call doctor in Woodlands & the North

A doctor to your flat or condominium in Woodlands, Yishun, Sembawang, Admiralty and Marsiling — including the late hours when the north feels a long way from anywhere.

Visiting this area

Distance is the problem we solve here.

The north is largely HDB, with condominiums along the Admiralty and Woodlands fringes. What makes it distinct is not the housing but the geography: at 11pm, getting an unwell parent from Sembawang to a hospital and back is a real undertaking, and the alternative has often been to wait until morning and hope.

That waiting is what we are here to remove. A doctor coming to a Woodlands flat at midnight is frequently the difference between a problem being assessed tonight and a family sitting up with it until the polyclinic opens.

If hospital care is needed

Where we escalate to from here.

Woodlands Health Campus serves the immediate Woodlands area, and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in Yishun is the established public emergency department for the north. Both are materially closer than the central hospitals, which matters when escalation is needed.

Where hospital care is required, the doctor arranges the referral and briefs the receiving team before you travel.

Getting to the patient

Access notes for Woodlands & the North.

HDB blocks. Please give the block, unit and nearest carpark when you book. Blocks in the newer Woodlands and Sembawang precincts run in long numbered sequences, and the difference between two similar block numbers can be a five-minute walk at night.

Lifts. Most blocks have lift access to every floor, but a few older blocks in Marsiling and Sembawang have lift landings only on selected floors. Tell us if the flat requires stairs from the lift landing.

Late-night access. Some condominium guardhouses in this area reduce staffing overnight; giving us the resident's name and unit at booking avoids the doctor waiting at a barrier.

Who calls us here

Common reasons in this area.

The commonest reasons families here call are fevers and infections in children, unwell elderly parents living with adult children, and post-discharge reviews for patients recently home from Khoo Teck Puat or Woodlands Health. Multi-generational households are common in the north, and it is frequently the middle generation arranging care for both directions at once.

We also see shift workers who genuinely cannot attend a daytime clinic, which is one of the reasons our after-hours service is used heavily in this part of the island.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Do you cover Woodlands and Sembawang at night?

Yes — 24 hours a day, every day. The north is one of the areas where late-night home visits make the biggest practical difference, because the alternative usually means a long journey with an unwell patient.

Which hospital is nearest for emergencies in the north?

Woodlands Health Campus serves the immediate Woodlands area, and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in Yishun is the established public emergency department for the northern region.

What details do you need for an HDB visit?

Block number, unit number and the nearest carpark. In the newer precincts the block sequences run long, so a nearby landmark helps the doctor reach the right lobby quickly at night.

Is a house call to Woodlands charged at a higher rate?

No. Our fees are flat by time of day and identical across Singapore — there is no distance surcharge for the north.
